About Catholikes

Catholikes is not an official or authorised part of the Catholic Church. It does not claim to be speaking for the Catholic Church.

It is a platform produced by a Catholic for sharing and reading reflections on prayer, faith and the Word of God. Contributors are individual Catholics reflecting on their faith.

The name “CathoLIKES” was chosen for the Facebook page because it invites people to join by “liking” the Facebook page. This remains the way in which you can join CathoLikes.

This site and its Facebook page began in 2014 as a response to the call of Pope Francis for each of us to spend 10 minutes each day reflecting on a passage from the Gospel:

“I would like to remind you once again, of the importance of having the Gospel, the Bible, close at hand. A small Gospel in your purse, in your pocket. Read a passage from the Gospel every day, a passage from the Bible. Please don’t ever forget this. Because this is the power that makes the life of the Kingdom of God sprout within us.” [Pope Francis, Sunday Angelus, 14 June 2015]
